A History of Hair Tech:
In 1979 we established Hair Tech in the former Christian church at Oak and Montgomery. The current brick building was rebuilt by the Mason’s in the 1920’s after a devastating fire. The Christian church was the next occupant, after they built a new church on Townline, the building was sold to an anonymous donor who gave it to the city for a community center. It also served as the Senior Center, and had some city offices in it as well as the Union County Conservation office. It was then sold at auction in 1979 to Tull and Sissel. It was remodeled and Hair Tech School of Cosmetology was established in 1979 in the lower level |
